Continuation of Leonardo da Vinci partnership project

Be-Ge Baltic UAB attended the 4rd meeting in London in February 2014 together with partners from Lithuania, Spain, Ireland and the United Kingdom for further development of Leonardo da Vinci partnership project “A Way Towards Effective Vocational Training of Deaf/ Hearing Impaired People”.
Students from Lithuania and Ireland with help of the Spanish teachers trialed the material of the Recommendations that have been developed during the project.
The Students created covers for the Recommendations with symbols from the project countries and, using IT tools, supplemented them with pictures from a cultural outing in London.
The project’s final conference will be held in May 2014 in Klaipeda (Lithuania).

The project is funded by the European Commission. More information about the project on www.effective-vocational-training.eu.

Be-Ge Baltic UAB, with activities within industrial sewing, upholstering and assembly, has four hearing impaired employees. Three of them have worked as seamstresses in the sewing department for fourteen years; one seamstress has worked for eight years.
Long term collaboration with Klaipeda Dressmaking and Business School, which has education programs even for deaf and hearing impaired people, creates opportunities both for students to develop their skills in the profession and for the company to employ trained personnel within cutting and sewing. The company has provided vocational training opportunities for many students within cutting, sewing, upholstering and assembly.
