It’s time again to reflect over the past year before we begin a new year.
Be-Ge Baltic UAB has had a study visit from Klaipeda Technology Training Center and colleagues from vocational schools with textile orientation in Latvia.
Now in September, The Be-Ge Baltic’s staff was on the tenth trip and visited Northeast of Lithuania’s cultural and natural heritage.
The staff at Be-Ge Baltic UAB has actively engaged in the improvement processes to gain more effectiveness and make their activities easier. The Kaizen-method has simplified implementation of the improvements and proved to be a well-functioning tool that benefits both the company and the individual.
After the eventful year 2016 with construction, moving, opening, acclimatization to new premises and at the same time fast-growing sales, we are now installed properly and have established new routines “under the new roof”. There was a challenging time. But we have managed to get fresh and nice workplaces, good flow in production and material handling, increased sales and more experience. The last half of the year is characterized by sales records for several consecutive months and intensive training for the staff. We have grown to over 100 employees and need new skills and tools to manage our business processes in the right working environment. Particular focus will be on improvements in production and collaboration between our different departments for even faster and more efficient communication.
The production management at Be-Ge Baltic UAB undergoes training for the development of competences and skills in production planning, process thinking and the employee collaboration. The training consists of 4 modules with approximately one month between each module for practical application in daily work. The training is a part of the company’s competence development project ” Development of professional competence and skills of Be-Ge Baltic staff during the investments 2016-2019 by the initiative no. 09.4.3 EFSA-K-805 Human Resources Invest LT+”, financed by the EU structural funds.
The increased market needs and the company’s willingness to continue growing together with the existing and new customers requires additional efforts from the staff for both qualitative and quantitative development. The production management is experiencing new challenges to handle increased non-standard production, new modern technologies and rapid changes in production planning. During the training, new tools and insights are gained on their daily routines, which open up other perspectives and opportunities for developing the great potential of the company.
We have started to equip ourselves for this new year already in December by increasing even our physical strength. Be-Ge Baltic UAB organizes regular yoga classes to employees twice a week in the company’s premises at the end of a working day. Our quality controller Gražina says that she feels relieved and relaxed after the training and comes home happy and lively without any work thoughts in mind as they disappear off during the training. Furthermore, her body feels better after getting exercise.
On Monday, November 7, 2016 an official inauguration ceremony was held for the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Sweden in Klaipėda. Ambassador of Sweden Maria Christina Lundqvist and Honorary Consul of Sweden Vaida Vaičaitienė inaugurated the consulate which now is based in Be-Ge Baltic’s premises.
On 20th October, Be-Ge Baltic had an inauguration of a new factory. MD Vaida Vaicaitiene and Be-Ge’s CEO Erland Persson welcomed international and local guests: customers and suppliers from Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, representatives of local authorities and organizations. On the factory tour the guests got a direct insight into the production flow with all used hard and soft technologies.
Be-Ge Baltic, UAB, implements a project “Development of professional competence and skills of Be-Ge Baltic staff during the investments 2016-2019 by the initiative no. 09.4.3 EFSA-K-805 Human Resources Invest LT+”, financed by the EU structural funds. The aim of the project is to create and develop the required human resources competencies and to ensure the sustainable development of the company.
